Goodbye, Dear Friend
On Wednesday, February 1st, our longtime and recently retired Parts Manager Bob Luft passed away. Bob was a staple of the Kane's Harley-Davidson® family, having been with us for nearly 30 years.
Bob was certainly old school. He was straight forward, to the point, and didn't shy away from making his opinions known. He was also a great person to have on your side, as he would do anything for those he cared about. He adapted well to our shop becoming a large scale destination in southern Alberta, but he looked back on the days of walking into a small machine shop fondly. It was the smell, he'd say. It just smelled like a Harley shop.
His long tenure in the Harley-Davidson® business made him a nearly limitless resource for his staff over the years. His experience as a journeyman technician was also extremely beneficial for those around him, and to our drag racing team here at Kane's.
Bob's departure has left a gaping hole not only in our shop, but in our hearts as well. We miss you already.
