On June 27, 2011, Michelle's summer evening ride with friends came to an abrupt halt when she lost control of her new motorbike and hit a guardrail in Cochrane. Airlifted by STARS to the Foothills Trauma Center, she lost incredible amounts of blood and was put on life support. Her chances for survival were slim. She broke many bones such as pelvis, hips, right femur, tailbone and vertebrates. Doctors worked tirelessly that night and day to try and save her severally beat up leg but in the end, it could not be repaired. Her new life begun on June 29th when she lost her right leg above her knee. Michelle's spirits have not been crushed by her situation; she has gained back her health and strength and is currently undergoing rehabilitation with her prosthetic leg. She plans to resume fitness competitions and be back on the stage May 2012.
Calendars are $5.00 and all proceeds go to the purchase of a new leg for Michelle.
